WHAT
ST. PAUL REALLY
SAID ABOUT WOMEN
Join
Wendy and Mark for
an informative series
looking at the writings
of St. Paul to the
various early churches.
Many have accused
Paul of a bias against
women and use his
writings to restrict
what woman can do
in the church. But
is that really accurate?
Meet some of the women
of the early church
and learn about the
issues that faced
those churches. We
will also look at
which letters were
really written by
Paul and what questions
are raised when we
consider the issue
of author- ship. Ultimately
we will look at and
discuss what those
issues mean to us
today.
A
Special Evensong
Service—March
21st
March
21 we invite all the
churches in Little
Neck to join us for
this wonderful evening
of worship and music.
Our choir will sing
and we will host a
dinner for our fellow
Christians in Little
Neck.
Sermon
in Motion March
21
March
21st we will do what
is called a sermon
in motion. We will
do gospel work instead
of just hearing about
it. The plan is for
one service on that
Sunday. We will begin
at 10:00 in the nave
with a normal Sunday
format. After the
Gospel we will go
to the Parish Hall
and pack food for
Stop Hunger Now. Following
the work we will exchange
the Peace and return
to the Nave for Eucharist
with the people from
Stop Hunger Now. The
food will go to Haiti.
For
all of this to happen
as well as get me
not to preach will
cost you a minimum
of $2500 and I would
like to make a suggestion.
During Lent we often
give up something
as a sign of penitence.
I would like to
ask each of you
to consider giving
up some extra or
luxury that you
spend money on like
a daily visit to
Starbucks. Then
figure out how much
you will save during
the 40 days of Lent
and pledge that
to the “Stop
Hunger Now” morning.
I will have pledge
sheets in the Parish
Hall for you to
sign. This is truly
a way for us to
make a sacrifice
for Lent that really
means something
and helps others.
SUNDAY
MORNING
We
offer an adult Christian
Formation Class from
September through May
at 9:30 in the Hospitality
Room. Led by the Rector
and members of the parish
this class considers
a wide variety of topics,
from current church
issues, to studies of
specific books of the
Bible.
THURSDAY
BROWN BAG BIBLE STUDY
This
class looks at the coming
lectionary passages.
The class follows the
11:30 weekday Eucharist.
Bring something to eat
and a bible. The class
will meet once a month

on the second Wednesday
of the month.
