The Men of St. Aidan’s have been active in raising money for outreach for forty years. Key fund raisers are the annual fall Bar-B-Que sale, fish fries, and the Second Sunday brunch.
Bar-B-Que is sold by the pound after each service, $6.95 per lb., $17.00 for 3 lbs.
Outreach projects include annual sponsorship a young man at Boys Home in Covington, Virginia. The Men’s Group provides scholarships for youth to attend camp at Chanco on the James Camp and Conference Center, support of the Mission of the Holy Spirit in Norfolk and sponsorship of the Holy Terrors softball team. Fund raising proceeds include items not in the church’s budget such as tables and chairs, communion kits, and bell choir equipment. The Men’s Group prepares and serves special brunches throughout the year such as the annual Mother’s Day brunch.
All male members of St. Aidan’s are considered members of the Men’s Group and are welcome at the group’s planning meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month.
